c. Comments about the essay.
Bedbugs are called Nan-kin-musi in Japan. I read about English name in this essay for the first. I thought English name is simpler than Japanese name, and I searched Nan-kin-musi by some dictionaries. Then I knew its official name is Toko-jirami in Japan. Toko means bed in English. Si(-ji)rami means bugs in English, too. This was interesting for me. I was grad a little that there is a same image between people who live in different countries. I want to know another English name of Nan-kin-musi.
Thanks! I too have heard that bedbugs have become a problem again in the U.S.
返信削除By the way, the following words were listed as synonyms for "bedbug":
>> bear hug, debug, earplug, firebug,
However, only "firebug" is an insect but I don't think it's like a bedbug. And the other words have nothing to do with bedbugs, at least as far as I know.
Thank you so much.
返信削除I misunderstood about synonyms of bedbug.
I see I couldn't use dictionary well.
Don't worry! I think you are doing well!
