a.Words or expressions that I don't know.


[These are which I could guess the meaning of a word or an expression from the context.]

1.expression
:a word or group of words with a particular meaning
＝表現、言い回し
2.overemphasize
:to give something more importance than it deserves(:to have earned something by good or bad actions or behaviour) or than is suitable(:having the right qualities for a particular person, purpose, or situation)
＝過度に強調する
3.thin
:if something is thin, there is only a small distance(:the amount of space between two places or things) between its two opposite(:as different as possible from something else) sides or surfaces(:the top layer of an area of water or land)
＝薄い
4.look up
:to look for information in a dictionary or REFERENCE BOOK
＝辞典等で言葉の意味を調べること
5.fairly
:in a way that is fair, honest(:someone who is honest always tells the truth and does not cheat or steal), and reasonable(:fair and sensible)
＝相当に、ふさわしく
6.paragraph
:part of a piece of writing which starts on a new line and contains at least one sentence
＝節、段落
7.curious
:wanting to know about something
＝好奇心が強い

:to be understood/meet or find by chance

:solve or discover the cause of a problem

b.Questions and about something I did not understand.

英語だとうまく表現できなかったので、申し訳ありませんが日本語で質問させて頂きます。
『How to Learn English』の第三段落で辞書を使う時のことが書かれていると思うのですが、全体的な意味は下記で合っているのでしょうか？
「憶測できる単語まで調べる必要はないので、全ての知らない単語を辞書で引く必要はないけれど、正確な意味を知る為に辞書を使うことはいいことです。」
(一応英語でも表現してみましたが、自信がありません)
You don't need to look up every word which you didn't know because you can guess at the meaning of the word, but it's good for you to look words up in a dictionary to be sure about its meaning.


c.Comments about or a short summary of the essay.

知らない文法や表現方法が多く、特に英英辞典を使うのは初めてに等しかったので、内容を理解するのに思っていたよりもずっと時間がかかりました。
エッセイの始めにあった、”習うより慣れろ”の精神にのっとり、早く英英辞書と英文に慣れるためにも、毎日使いたいと思います。
今週中には残りの段落も読んで、更に新しい記事を探しておきます。
